A BIT ABOUT ME
After earning my PhD in English, I spent five years as communications manager and grant writer/editor for an arts nonprofit. I later worked for over a decade as a book editor, on both fiction and nonfiction titles, for a midsize publishing company. I'm passionate about the power of the written word and the rhythm, grace, and wit that make for good communication. I look forward to working with you or your organization to shape or polish your text.

SERVICES FOR INDIE AUTHORS (FICTION AND NONFICTION)
Do you have a rough draft, a revised draft, or a carefully developed manuscript? Contact me to discuss what type of editing might be most beneficial for you.
For fiction writers, I offer substantive editing and line editing to help you sort out plot tangles, ensure character consistency, and make your manuscript sing.
For nonfiction writers and subject matter experts, I can help with structure, transitions, and phrasing clarity in your book or article, as well as point out areas that might need more development or documentation.
For all writers, I offer copyediting services to correct grammar, syntax, and continuity.
SERVICES FOR PUBLISHERS (FICTION AND NONFICTION)
If you are a publisher or book packager, I offer line editing, copyediting, and proofreading services on fiction and nonfiction texts. I am fluent in The Chicago Manual of Style and MLA style.
For fiction publishers, I have particular experience with mystery, young adult, fantasy, and literary titles. I know the ins and outs of dialogue punctuation and have a sharp eye for character and plot continuity.
For nonfiction publishers, I have particular experience with New Age and self-help titles ranging from first-person reminiscences to carefully researched books. Also, as a PhD and former teacher, I have analyzed academic texts and am well versed in the broader context of scholarly writing.
